Clinical and microbiological analysis was performed 3 days after treatment. Results 42 patients (82.3%) receiving ozone therapy were cured. The treatment was considered as markedly effective in 6 cases (11.8%) and effective in 3 cases (5.3%). Total effective rate was 100%. The total effective rate of control was 90.3%. Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate the possibility of using ozonotherapy in the combined treatment of patients with bacterial vaginosis. A total of 102 women aged from 21 to 35 years were exposed either to local (vaginal irrigation with an ozonated physiological saline solution) or combined (local irrigation plus intravenous administration of the ozonotaed physiological solution) effects of ozone. It was shown that ozonotherapy promotes normalization of major clinical and laboratory characteristics of the patients, vaginal microbiocenosis, and local immunity disturbances. The patients of both groups treated with ozonated solutions were significantly different from controls as regards major clinical characteristics. Key Words: bacterial vaginosis, treatment, ozonotherapy, antioxidative system, local immunity
