Abstract

Acute nonspecific pleural empyema (ANPE) is an actual problem of thoracal surgery. Ozonotherapy (OT) has bactericidal, anti-virus, disintoxication, anti-hypoxic and immunosimulating actions. Determination of efficiency of using ozone in the complex therapy ANPE. To treat ANPE was used intravenous injection of the enriched by ozone physiological solution 400 ml from 2 to 10 mg/l and intra-pleuraflax washing the cavity of empyema by enriched ozone physiological solution 400 ml in the in the concentration 16 mg/l through the vent line. For the estimation of efficiency treatments was used objective information, clinical and biochemical blood tests, roentgenologic inspections, sowing of blood and washings from the empyema canity on microflora, the cytological control of the exudate, the ultra-sleepHaugraffia. All patients with ANPE were operated under the local anaesthesia: the drainage of the cavity of pleura in the lower parts. 36 patients were treated with ozon in complex therapy (OZT) of acute nonspecific pleural empyema (ANPE), aged 19 – 64 (male 32, female 4). 24 had bronchial and pleural fistulas. Fisiological solution with ozon (FSO) was injected in central or perirheral veins in an amount 400 ml to 20 sessions and through pleural drainage tube. After thee-valid for one occasion treatment of cavity of empyema by FSO the level of microbal flora went down more than in 4,6 timws. Through 10 – 12 sessions OZT the remaining cavity of empyema of pleura diminished in 2 – 2,5 times by roentgenological examination and gradually – effusion. Complications did not look after OZT. The use of OT in the treatment of ANPE is safe, permitted to improve results of treatment, complications were not noticed.
