Abstract The preliminary report presents the results of application of ozone preparation in form of ophthalmic drops in 89 patients (134 eyes). This preparation has been used in virus conjunctival and corneal diseases as well as in corneal degenerations after inflammatory conditions and chemical burns. One observed as acceleration of the regeneration processes in active inflammatory conditions of the anterior eye segment; instead the cases of leucoma and corneal opacities did not show any clinical effect.

Title [Preliminary report on using general ozone therapy in diseases of the posterior segment of the eye]

Abstract Autotransfusion of ozone venous blood was performed in 174 patients, in 32 patients ozone was given intraarterially. General ++ozone therapy was used for the first time in Poland in the following ophthalmological conditions: retinal pigment dystrophy, glaucomatous optic atrophy, in optic neuritis, after injuries and in cases of unknown aetiology; in degenerative-atrophic changes of the choroid, in high myopia, in post-inflammatory cases, in other degenerative diseases and in bacterial corneal ulcerations. Ozone therapy in these conditions seems to be favourable especially when the pathological process is not extensive. One could observe an improvement of the visual acuity and of the visual field.

Title [Plasmapheresis combined with cell mass ozonation in endogenous uveitis treatment]
Author Onishchenko, A L

Abstract Authors propose a new method of uveitis treatment based on plasmapheresis in combination with cell mass ozonation. Analysis of treatment results of 3 patient groups (179 patients, 209 eyes) showed advantage of this original modification of plasmapheresis. In our opinion the effectiveness of proposed treatment option is associated with immunomodulatory effect of plasmapheresis and ozone therapy as well as bactericidal, antiviral and fungicidal effects of ozone therapy. Some sanogenetic mechanisms of the new treatment are disclosed in the study such as correction of T-cell immunodeficiency, decrease of circulating immune complexes and others.
